The NIAID HIV Vaccine Research Education Initiative (NHVREI) partnership program has two approaches that work together: the Local Partnership Program (LPP) and the NHVREI National Partners. The LPP seeks to create a supportive local environment for HIV vaccine research by educating key communities about this research in areas where HIV vaccine clinical trials are ongoing or planned. By engaging both national and local organizations, tapping into their extensive networks, and reaching deeper into communities most affected by HIV/AIDS, the NHVREI partners help build greater awareness of and support for HIV vaccine research and HIV vaccine clinical trial participants.
The NHVREI Local Partners are:
The NHVREI National Partners are:
AIDS Action Foundation: A national organization dedicated to the development, analysis, cultivation, and encouragement of sound policies and programs in response to the HIV epidemic.
AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth and Families: A national organization whose mission is to advance the partnership between consumers and providers and serve as the ‘voice’ of women, children, youth, and families living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.
National AIDS Education Services for Minorities: A national organization whose mission is to educate communities of color on the facts about HIV/AIDS and to make health care and social services available to people of color with early or advanced stages of HIV/AIDS regardless of sexual orientation.
National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors: A national membership organization representing state and territorial AIDS directors who serve every population affected by and infected with HIV and viral hepatitis in the United States.
National Minority AIDS Council: A national organization dedicated to developing leadership within communities of color to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS.
